請到這裡聯署，甘甘希望能搜集到一百個簽名，用作（直接和間接）敦促有關各方盡快暫緩拆卸工程，讓專家進場勘察，並把具有歴史價值的部分作適當保存。

To: 致發展局、市建局、民政局、文物專員、古物古蹟辦事處 由於灣仔街市正在局部拆卸，街市內裡結構，尤其是鋼鐵結構部分，在推土機和風鑽下盡露眼前，讓我們發現，這座三十年代落成的建築物，竟正在反映著香港建築歴史中一個不為人知的重要部分。因此，我們要求政府與發展商達成協議： （一）暫緩拆卸工程，讓專家進場勘察。 （二）把具有歴史價值的部分（尤其鋼架結構部分），作適當保存。 要求理據： 1. 科技價值 街市用了三十年代最先進的建築科技，是與當時製造帝國大廈、鐵達尼號、巴黎鐵塔以及金門大橋相同的一種技術（即在燒焊技術成熟以前，以六角頭螺釘Bolt及窩釘Rivet把工字鐵牢牢接合）；香港另一以此技術興建的是第三代匯豐銀行，由於匯豐銀行已拆卸，僅存的灣仔街市是了解這種建築科技的唯一實體。 2. 建築學奇景與歴史懸案 街市雖只有兩層高，卻用上了興建百層高樓的鋼架結構技術，其建造方法異常堅固，絕非專家所言的「鹹水樓」。這裡產生了一個可能是重要的謎：在三十年代經濟低迷、大戰迫近的期間，政府為何以遠超所需的物料和技術去建造一個庶民建築？這將是歴史學者的新研究題目。 3. 歴史價值 是次發現，不僅對工程界和建築界有重大意義，對灣仔社區以至不少香港市民而言，同樣有重要的歴史意義，因為它見證了灣仔總是最先引入高新科技的傳統，亦是市民共同擁有的物質遺產。透過適當的保存，我們和我們的下一代就可以用眼睛和雙手，親身感受和明瞭自己的歴史。 顧問：李浩賢，港大建築文物保護課程主任；參考：《香港經濟日報》2009-05-19 杜正之 :〈採訪手記〉、《東方日報》2009-05-20 黃英琦：〈「超結實」〉
